Bay Beach – The Merry-Go-Round

Last week, the girls and I headed up to Green Bay to take a trip to Bay Beach with my parents (Grandma and Grandpa Van).

151 I’ve been going to Bay Beach since I was a little kid so it was great to share it with my kids too.  What’s even cooler about the experience is that MY PARENTS have been going to Bay Beach since they were little kids too!  They both grew up in DePere and my dad was telling us how he and his brother used to bike all the way to Bay Beach to ride the bumper cars.  Now, this was not a short bike ride – my dad lived on the other side of the river in DePere – I can’t even imagine how much time that took – but that’s determination!

You can read more about the history of Bay Beach here:  http://www.ci.green-bay.wi.us/BayBeach/History/index.html

I got LOTS of amazing pictures on all the different rides (the girls were able to ride all the rides available to their age group for $10 – seriously – does it get much better than that!?).  I thought I’d do a different ride each post.  I’ll start today with the Merry-Go-Round Pictures.  044Grandpa rode the ride with Capri – she chose a blue horse (blue is her favorite color).   047Grandma rode a red horse alongside the pink bunny that Cedi picked out.045  around and 051 around they go!150     I got some great pictures of the Ferris Wheel so I’ll just be including them at the bottom of each post…by the end of the journey through our trip to Bay Beach you’ll have to tell me which one is your favorite.
