Project QUILTING, Season 3, Challenge 1 – Architectural Elements

Welcome back to another season of Project QUILTING!  I am super excited to be back hosting more quilt challenges and I can’t wait to see all the amazing pieces that are created over the next 12 weeks of Season 3.


All of these will be selected from hat.  Everyone who enters a piece following the challenges guidelines within the week of this challenge will have there
name put in the hat for an opportunity to win one of these ELEVEN amazing prizes!  (Pictures/examples of the prizes are all shown on Project QUILTING Season 3 – PRIZES post)

The CHALLENGE -Architectural Elements

  1. Your inspiration will come from architecture. 
  2. Be sure to include a photo or description of the architectural element(s) that inspired you.
  3. Your project can be any size or shape.
  4. Please remember that these projects need to be created during the week of the challenge.
  5. POST your entries with a description of your creative process, including where you are (ie, I create in Madison, WI) and the size of your project by Sunday, January 15th, 2012, at noon, CDT, to this flickr group – Project QUILTING with KimsCraftyApple: OR email a picture/description of your completed project to {lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line.
  6. If you wish to receive critiques on your piece – the good and critical – please add your photo’s to this group as well:
  7. Are you stuck?  Need a little ‘Tim Gunn’ advice during the week?  Or are you just so excited on how things are going along and what to share your WIP?  We have a group for that!

Remember, these challenges are intended to help you “Think Outside the Square”. Be creative. Take a risk. DO SOMETHING NO ONE ELSE WILL THINK OF DOING

  3. I'm really excited about this challenge. I do have a question though. The due date you have listed must be from a previous season, March 27, 2011. What is the due date for this project?

  4. OOPS! I left up last years due date - this challenge is due January 15th, 2012 at NOON!

  5. Great Quilting Challenge! Thanks for the inspiration! There are so many possibilities with all the patterns of buildings and whatnot! This will be my thinking day!
