Rear Window - rain

I decided to try the challenge....scary! It is hard to see but each square is sewn in a square except for the largest size. The black background is tiny bubble fabric and the taupe is tiny swirls. The quilting thread is Sulky black to silver variegated giving it the rain running down the window feel. The wall hanging is 34 1/2" by 34 1/2" square. My own design. Lots of learning went on in this project. Creating in Nebraska.

***Please stop by flickr (click on picture above) and give KrisTMJ a critique of her quilt!***

Thinking Outside the Box 006

Thinking Outside the Box

Hello from Michigan. I am a traditional type of girl, but this year I decided to challenge myself. When I stumbled upon this year's challenge I knew this was what I needed. I have a hard time thinking outside the box sometimes, so this little wallhanging is to remind me that it's okay and makes life more exciting when things don't line up perfectly. Therefore, my red square is a reminder and challenge to myself to step outside of my comfort zone at least once in awhile. – Sandra

I forgot to post the size. This little wallhanging is 11 x 11, not counting that little rebel square!

A mesmerizing Australian Aboriginal print combined with Shot Cottons in Teal and Ginger form the backdrop for a multiplicity of squares within squares. The fabrics were a challenge to work with and an even greater challenge to photograph!
I blog and create in Ontario, Canada.

The quilt measures 51” x 51”

This is my mug rug for the Project Quilting Challenge Square in a Square!

I used all stash fabric! I also have a GemMagic that I used to put the sets on with! I just felt 'Pink" and decided to do this for the challenge ! It was fun can't wait for Challenge 2! I live in Oaktown, Indiana and love to read, sew, and quilt. I'm new to machine quilting but I think I did ok considering my machine is a 1957 Singer and I didn't use a walking foot. I may try putting on on my machine and practice so I can get better. One of these days I'm gonna do one all by hand!
